Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Consultant to oversee diagnostic laboratory services and provide expert guidance in laboratory medicine and pathology operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate, timely, and quality diagnostic testing while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and supporting clinical teams in patient diagnosis and treatment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and consultation for laboratory and pathology services.
- Ensure accuracy, reliability, and quality of laboratory investigations.
- Review and interpret laboratory results and provide clinical guidance when required.
- Oversee hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, and pathology services.
- Establish and monitor laboratory quality control and quality assurance programs.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise laboratory staff performance and competency development.
- Review laboratory procedures, protocols, and test methodologies.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical departments regarding diagnostic findings.
- Participate in laboratory audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support implementation of new technologies and diagnostic services.
Requirements
Requirements
Education
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MD) or equivalent with specialization in Pathology/Laboratory Medicine.
- Valid professional medical license.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in laboratory medicine or pathology.
- Experience managing clinical laboratories in a hospital environment.
- Experience with accreditation standards preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of laboratory diagnostics and pathology practices.
- Understanding of laboratory quality management systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Ability to interpret complex laboratory results.
- Strong leadership and laboratory management skills.
- Excellent communication with clinical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship or board certification in Pathology/Laboratory Medicine.
- Experience with CAP, JCI, ISO, or equivalent accreditation standards.
- Experience in cardiovascular hospital laboratory services.
