Our client is an international industrial manufacturing group specialized in advanced thermal and acoustic insulation solutions for demanding industrial applications, operating multiple production entities.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing operational controlling processes across the organization, with a strong focus on SAP-based activities, material cost allocation and operational transparency.
You will work closely with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance teams to stabilize and improve operational controlling structures in a complex project-based manufacturing environment.
Your Responsibilities
Operational Controlling & Transparency
Improve transparency of material consumption and allocation across projects, products and customers
Analyze material cost deviations, margin leakages and operational inefficiencies: product profitability
Monitor and explain material expense ratios across products, projects and manufacturing entities
Support the implementation and stabilization of operational controlling standards across the group, in SAP but also implementation of procedure by group level
IC price calculation – improvement
Perform detailed variance analyses related to:
material consumption,
labor allocation,
inventory movements,
production variances,
and project profitability
Support the development of operational KPI structures and management reporting
Part of operational SAP CO activities (costing, month-end closing, issue resolution)
Cross-plant production controlling
Intercompany pricing and costing processes
SAP & Data Quality Improvement
Drive improvements in SAP master data quality across material masters, BOMs, routings and costing structures
Identify inconsistencies and process weaknesses affecting operational and financial reporting
Support optimization of SAP CO-PC related processes and operational controlling structures
Act as interface between Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance regarding SAP controlling topics
Contribute to ERP stabilization and process harmonization initiatives across international entities
Manufacturing & Project Costing
Improve transparency and reliability of project and customer profitability
Analyze costing structures within a Make-to-Order and project manufacturing environment
Perform loss-free valuation analyses for inventory and long-term manufacturing projects
Support inventory transparency and inventory valuation accuracy
Monitor operational cost drivers and identify improvement potentials
Support standardization of costing and allocation methodologies across entities
Cross-Functional Business Partnering
Work closely with plant management and operational departments across multiple international sites
Challenge operational assumptions and support fact-based decision making
Support operational excellence initiatives with financial and operational analyses
Contribute to reducing uncontrolled project losses and improving operational discipline
Your Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or Industrial Engineering
Approximately 5 years of professional experience in operational controlling within an industrial manufacturing environment
Strong experience in Make-to-Order (MTO), project manufacturing or complex production environments
Advanced SAP experience is mandatory, ideally including:
SAP FI/CO,
SAP CO-PC,
SAP MM/PP,
SAP CO-PA
master data structures,
and operational costing processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Hands-on mentality with strong operational understanding
Experience working in international and cross-functional environments
Ability to identify process weaknesses and drive sustainable improvements
Strong communication skills and ability to work with operational stakeholders
Fluent English required
