Job Description Pango is looking for a Software Engineer (PHP) to join our dynamic and brilliant Engineering team. As a Software Engineer, you will play an active part in designing backend components and services for main Pango's products. You will help Pango to design and implement a scalable architecture, build core services and APIs, and manage and evolve existing software systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail, and quality oriented, as well as passionate about having a huge impact in providing privacy and security to millions of our users. Responsibilities:Design, implement, deploy, and operate scalable backend systemsUtilize the following technologies: PHP, Nginx, MySQL, Memcache, RabbitMQ, Prometheus, Docker, JavaScript, HTMLEnsure that everything you write is well-tested and automatedHelp define our architecture ensuring scalability and reliabilityHelp define our API design and best practicesParticipate in planning and retrospectivesCollaborate with Product Management and Engineering colleagues on technical vision and design Requirements:Production experience creating software with PHP 7/8 is requiredExperience with building scalable, resilient, high-performance systems3+ years experience in developing REST APIYou've designed, built, scaled, and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service-oriented architecture.Able to design schemas for relational databases such as MySQL, write efficient SQL without an ORM and optimize DB queriesAnalytical thinking and experience with data and A/B testingExperience building robust APIs for third partiesHave strong opinions on API design and best practicesYou play well with othersFamiliarity with Test Driven DevelopmentDocker or containerization experience or familiarityA strong sense of customer empathy and desire to influence the product directionA deep desire to be challenged and continuously improve as an engineerExperience implementing software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation) Nice to Have:You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservicesExperience with caching technologies such as Memcached or RedisExperience working with AWS technologies (DynamoDB, S3)Experience working with queuing systems such as RabbitMQ or Amazon Simple Queue ServiceGolang expertiseAdvanced Unix skills As part of Pango Group, you will: Solve real customer problems.
