R&D Software Engineer for Mobile Fraud Detection in Bucuresti

About the Role Become a key player in mobile fraud detection by joining Mangopay as an R&D Software Engineer in our Mobile Profilers team. In this role, you will concentrate on developing SDKs tailored for iOS platform. Engage deeply in the field of cybersecurity, an increasingly vital and rapidly expanding sector in the CEE region. You will have the opportunity to work with our advanced Profiler technology, which meticulously gathers over 5,000 attributes from user data—both explicitly provided and implicitly derived—across various mobile platforms. This approach significantly heightens the precision of fraud detection, fortifying defenses against sophisticated emulation and spoofing strategies. Key Responsibilities Leading feature creation from PoC to production for fraud detection and overseeing the maintenance of current features. Playing a pivotal role in the development of the iOS Profiler SDK library, crucial to our anti-fraud mechanism. Unearthing and assimilating new profiling attributes to better understand users and identify fraud. Refining public and internal API backends and leading code reviews. Taking part in crucial architectural design decisions. Crafting user profiling code compatible with a variety of devices. Steering the development and maintenance of CI/CD solutions. Guaranteeing code quality through automated testing. Key Competencies General Software Engineering: Solid foundation in software engineering principles. Experience with a variety of programming languages; specific expertise in Swift or Objective-C is beneficial but not essential. Experience in developing native libraries for iOS is a great plus. Interest or experience in embedded systems or environments with resource constraints. Experience in various aspects of software development, with a preference for projects that involve innovation or unique challenges. History of adapting to new technologies and platforms effectively. Demonstrated ability to independently carry a project from concept to production. Experience with Agile development methodologies preferred. Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio showcasing innovative projects would be advantageous. Research and Development Focus: Strong inclination towards R&D work, with a tinkering mindset. Experience in, or a keen interest in, developing technology solutions for fraud detection. Ability to adapt to new technologies and rapidly evolving environments. Analytical and Data Skills: Basic understanding of data science principles. Capability to analyse and interpret data to inform development decisions.  Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and methodologies. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.  Additional qualifications in areas like embedded systems, data science, or security are a plus.
