We are partnered with a global IT consultancy delivering secure, large-scale digital transformation programmes. As part of a major infrastructure uplift, we are seeking two OpenShift Platform Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support the migration of critical workloads - OpenShift.
This is a UK-remote contract with a requirement for occasional travel or site working. Due to the sensitivity of the programme, the role requires active SC Clearance or the eligibility to obtain it.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will provide deep technical assurance and engineering input across all phases of the platform build and migration. You will be responsible for validating the new OpenShift environment, supporting application/operator migration, and ensuring secure, compliant deployment of key platform services.
Key Skills & Experience
Strong experience deploying and operating OpenShift 4.x clusters (preferably 4.14 or 4.18)
Advanced Kubernetes knowledge, especially within enterprise OpenShift environments
Proven experience migrating applications, infrastructure components, and operators
Familiar with OpenShift core operators:
HashiCorp Vault
Red Hat Quay
Clair (vulnerability scanning)
Keycloak (IAM)
Istio (Service Mesh)
Able to support validation, configuration checks, post-migration testing, and documentation
Additional Technical Skills
Infrastructure as Code: Ansible and/or Terraform
CI/CD and GitOps tooling: ArgoCD, Jenkins, Tekton
Scripting in Bash or Python
Familiar with secure, high-assurance platform environments
Desirable Certifications
Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration
Kubernetes CKA
Red Hat Certified OpenShift Application Developer
