Project details
As a Cybersecurity Consultant for our Metaverse project, you will be responsible for developing robust cybersecurity, identity management, and data privacy recommendations for other partners to implement. You will work cross-functionally with metaverse developers, dataspace engineers and data providers to ensure the metaverse platform is secure, compliant, and resilient against emerging threats.
Your Team
Within the project we have a product owner from the business who has 2 to 3 team members. The business is responsible for priorities, requirements and next releases.

Responsibilities
Cybersecurity, Identity Management and Data Privacy Consulting
Develop practicable security recommendations for metaverse infrastructure (Dataspaces, VR/AR platforms, decentralized systems, cloud environments).
Provide key recommendations on Gaia-X identity management, as well as self-sovereign and metaverse application identities.
Establish privacy-by-design principles across metaverse applications in compliance with European data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR)
Liaise with external partners to support implementation and compliance, and control scope to ensure use cases are delivered on-time and on-budgets.
Skills
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in emerging tech (e.g., Metaverse, XR, blockchain, Web3).
Strong understanding of IAM protocols and processes, dataspaces, cloud infrastructure and privacy engineering.
Experience in developing security concepts, architectures, or governance models.
Excellent writing skills on technical and process documentation (Security policies, Technical standards, Operating procedures).
Ability to translate complex technical topics into structured, understandable documentation.
Familiarity with metaverse (Unity) and Dataspace Platforms (Gaia-X, Pontus-X) is a plus.
Certifications such as CISSP or CISM are highly desirable.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable business recommendations.
