Senior Data Engineer in Bucuresti

About the role: As a Senior Data Engineer you will be part of the Data Services Team and support its mandate by providing innovative solutions to internal and external clients. These solutions would include data extraction and ingestion from/to multiple sources(distributed/local), data merging, data modeling, data cleaning, pipeline management, data flow monitoring, information reporting.Data Service team is responsible for constructing client deliverables by aggregating, evaluating, and analyzing data and to provide context on the content. The Data Service Team also maintains/uses historical database of all its products using ETL tools like Pentaho Spoon and python. Job responsibilities:• Conducting a thorough discovery process to identify problems and solutions.• Developing and automating large-scale, high-performance data processing systems.• Acquiring and consolidating structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.• Designing data models that enable optimal storage and retrieval to meet requirements.• Ensuring data accuracy and reliability through cleansing, verifying, and quality assessment.• Communicating insights and information through data presentation and visualization techniques, conveying relevant information to team members and top management, proposing innovative solutions and strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Qualifications:• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling, including designing schemas, indexes, partitioning, replication, and working with basic and aggregate functions.• 3+ years of experience working with SQL queries.• Experience with data integration tools like Pentaho Spoon or similar technologies.• Knowledge of large-scale data processing techniques, query optimization, stored procedure writing, and indexing.• Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.• Experience in programming languages such as Python or equivalent is a huge asset.• Familiarity with cloud-based data migration platforms and related technologies.• Understanding of Databases and Data Warehousing solutions, and experience in performance tuning at the physical/database level.• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, preferably English.About UsSustainalytics is a Morningstar company dedicated to responsible investment with over 25 years' experience in ESG research and ratings.
