What can you expect?

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supplier and Operations Quality Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing supplier quality issues, enhancing operational quality processes, and supporting various quality initiatives within our organization.




What will your responsibilities be?

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Assist operations in resolving critical supplier issues and managing Material Quality Review (MQR) escalations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and evidence preparation for MQR escalations.
  • Develop and implement methodologies for charging escalation-related costs to suppliers.
  • Collaborate with plants to facilitate discussions regarding Supplier Chargeback (SCB) and organize SCB reviews.
  • Conduct supplier visits alongside plant representatives and manage supplier 8D scoring processes.
  • Operations Quality Support:

  • Support plant teams with operational concerns as needed.
  • Conduct Read Across activities and guide teams in documenting and applying lessons learned.
  • Provide guidance on Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and essential Quality Assurance processes.
  • Project Quality Involvement:

  • Participate in supplier risk assessment evaluations to support project quality.
  • Reporting and Reviews:

  • Prepare and review reports for various quality metrics, including MQR, SCB, SMRR, COPQ, and month-end quality reports.
  • Recommend optimizations or simplifications for reporting processes.
  • Projects and Special Initiatives:

  • Oversee PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities, including ePPAP and requalification.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency in quality processes.
  • Manage supplier onboarding in the EMEA region through the IRIS Supplier Access platform.
  • Quality IT Contributions:

  • Propose and contribute to new IT projects while maintaining and updating existing applications.
  • Train plant employees and related departments on new applications and changes, including enhancements in IRIS.
  • Quality System Management:

  • Maintain and update Business Operating System (BOS) documents based on identified needs.
  • Review BOS documentation owned by the Supplier and Operations Quality team.
  • Monitor audit planning and execution related to BOS and support the completion of BOS projects.
  • Assist with systemic analysis and corrective actions from IATF findings.
  • Conduct VDA audits at suppliers as needed and support plants during customer audits and dry-runs.

  • Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certifications (, Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, supplier quality assurance, or operations quality within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement in quality processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (, IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and quality tools (, 8D, PPAP, FMEA).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, with advanced skills in Excel; experience with quality IT systems preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining detail-oriented and organized.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
