The Senior Experience Researcher at Autodesk is a relentless customer advocate, possesses a passion for human-centered design, and has a track record of executing highly impactful research with cross-functional teams. Our Senior Experience Researchers leverage a wide variety of research methods and work in lockstep with their teams to envision, validate, and ship high-quality experiences our customers will love. Reporting to an Experience Design Manager in the Building Design Products team, you will work with multiple scrum teams working primarily on Revit, our industry-leading Building Information Modeling software, to help enable our Architecture and Engineering customers to design, analyze, model, fabricate buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other structures. This position is in Bucharest, Romania. Our Team The Building and Infrastructure Design XD team is a worldwide design team supporting products that have more than 2 million monthly active users. Our tools are critical to our customers day-to-day work, their effectiveness, and their business goals. Our design team members work to make sure we deeply understand our customers’ workflows and create experiences that help them get their work done. How You’ll Spend Your Days • Planning and executing customer research throughout the design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validation. • Employing a wide range of research methods, including generative design research and contextual inquiry, participatory design workshops, interviews, formative and summative usability studies, and quantitative methods, such as surveys and data analytics. • Collecting existing research and insights to inform your research questions from around the company, including market and business intelligence, usage analytics, and previous work by other UX researchers. • Leading empathy and design-thinking workshops with cross-functional teams to ensure that findings and insights are translated into actionable product goals and direction. • Sharing customer insights with the broader organization in creative ways to increase customer empathy. • Participating in the research community at Autodesk to share and evangelize research findings, collaborate on projects to understand our customers’ end-to-end journey, and to promote research as a strategic driver for our products and services. What You’ll Need to Bring • 3-5+ years of professional research experience. • Strong track record of qualitative and quantitative results impacting product strategy and development. • Up-to-date toolkit of research methods, and the experience and savvy to know when to be lean and scrappy and when to be rigorous. • Ability to collaborate with a wide set of stakeholders including designers, product managers, and software developers. • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, agile environment. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas to their essence. Bonus Points Bachelor’s or master’s degree in cognitive or experimental psychology, human computer interaction, human factors, or related field. Familiarity with Architecture, Engineering and Construction workflows. Familiarity with Lean UX and Lean Research methodologies. Experience with agile software development.
