This cross-functional product team is responsible for engineering solutions to meet new and evolving data privacy laws. What you’ll be doingWork on a new opportunity to create and implement a data deletion solution at Zendesk while integrating new and existing products.Actively participate in every aspect of software engineering: designing, building, and testing software applications.Ensure scalability, performance, maintainability and security of the technical platform.Proactively implement changes to improve system reliability, stability, performance, and foster standard methodologies, high-quality code, and appropriate test coverage among other technical contributors.You will be working with a product manager and participating in agile ceremonies.Collaborating with a product designer and ensuring that design functionality and UI specs are accurately followed and aligned with the Zendesk design system. What you bring to the roleYou’re tenacious, driven, and have a passion for learning, love to collaborate and have meaningful interactions with everyone you meet.Have a proven record in Software Engineering with strong capabilities in any of the major programming languages (Java, Ruby, Go, Scala).Are experienced in building scalable, distributed systems.Proven understanding of data structures and algorithms.Personal projects, collaboration with an open-source community or active learning initiatives would be a good sign of your passion for learning and tackling problems. Preferred requirementsWe’d love to hear from you if you have prior experience in this field. It's not needed but any prior experience would be an advantage.Prior experience in security or data privacy and protection space.Prior Ruby on Rails experience.Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and object data stores (e.g. MySQL, S3, Redis, DynamoDB, Athena).Infrastructure such as Elasticsearch and information retrieval systems. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.
