Senior Systems Engineer - Linux & HPC TurleyWay have partnered with a world renowned trading firm in a search for a Senior System Engineer. We are seeking a Linux expert to join this company as Senior Systems Engineer, bringing in-depth knowledge of Linux, networking, and storage for large clusters. This role is ideal for an engineer with extensive experience in Compute/Networking/Storage for high-performance computing environments, particularly with GPU clusters. The candidate will work with complex systems, maintaining and enhancing infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems and HPC, requiring a blend of advanced Linux skills and coding abilities beyond basic Scripting. Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, with comparable work experience. Deep expertise in Linux-based operating systems and exposure to Compute, Networking, and Storage for large-scale clusters. Experience with HPC networking (especially beneficial if with GPU clusters) and large-scale storage solutions. Proficiency in Python and the ability to code effectively. Experience other OOP languages would be beneficial - Rust, C, C++ or Go preferred but not required. Experience with automated build systems, software deployment, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong troubleshooting skills, with proficiency in diagnostic and tracing tools. Impeccable communication skills for collaboration with cross-departmental teams. Familiarity with distributed systems, high-performance computing, and a working knowledge of network protocols. This role is perfect for a systems engineer with a passion for HPC environments and infrastructure optimisation. This would be great for someone who can navigate complex Linux ecosystems and contribute to high-performance, efficient computing solutions.
