Senior Technical Lead (Cloud Operations) in Sibiu

Responsibilities Provide technical leadership & support for the local Cloud Operations teams. Drive a culture of eliminating toil through automating wherever possible. Drive a culture of continuous improvement. Maintain agreed standards for observability and monitoring implementing automated remediation workflows wherever possible. Assign and oversee the technical tasks for technical leads. Acting as a point of escalation for the local Technical Leads. Performing the duties of ‘Technical Manager on-call’ as part of the technical management OOH rota. Performing the role of Career Coach for specific team members (as agreed with line manager and individual coaches). Determining the membership of on-call rotas (in conjunction with the local technical leads and line managers). Inputting to the technical development plans of team members (in conjunction with line managers and local tech leads). Acting as the SME for the transition into support of services provided to a new client (e.g. discovery phase, KT sessions, reviewing/creating documentation, sign-off etc). Assisting with the technical evaluation of recruitment candidates (in conjunction with the technical leads). Inputting to the development of skills development programs e.g. internships, School of Cloud Ops etc. Identifying opportunities to ‘shift left’ and working with the Operational Managers to implement them. Identifying opportunities for automation and driving them through to the realization. Leading the root cause analysis following major incidents to ensure that the RC is fully understood, a solid remediation/mitigation plan is in place and is accurately described in the MI Report. Ensuring that knowledge remains current and relevant by staying abreast of the changes to technologies, standards and methodologies in their specialist field required to maintain SME status. Qualifications and Experience Cloud, Microsoft, ITIL or related certifications are a plus. 10+ years of experience in the IT domain. Minimum 3 years of work experience in a technical lead/technical manager role. Very good understanding of concepts of the system architectures. 5+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms. Proven experience with automation to reduce operational effort. Extensive knowledge of Containerization and Orchestration Technologies. In-depth knowledge of one of the following cloud platforms: AWS, MS Azure or GCP Production experience with AWS, Azure & GCP, Kubernetes, and working with CI/CD pipelines. Production experience in designing automation pipelines with Gitlab. Production experience with developing automated cloud infrastructures (Ex: GCP Cloud Deployment Manger, ARM, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible etc.) Linux systems administration, configuration, troubleshooting and automation. Functioning knowledge of SQL (Ex: MySQL, Aurora) and NoSQL database systems (Ex: Redis, Mongo) Solid understanding of the change management process. Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings, as well as in creating network maps and drawings with Visio Awareness of IT Security Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and inter-relating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams. Knowledge sharing and collaboration skills Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skill Ability to listen to her/his colleagues and communicate instructions effectively. Ability to always pay attention to details and encourage team members to do same.
