Steelwork / Shipbuilding Supervisor (M/F) PA-d2m-380 in Giurgiu

As part of the development of a large-scale naval construction program abroad, we are looking for an experienced Steelwork / Shipbuilding Supervisor to support and coordinate industrial activities on site.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-value shipbuilding projects within a demanding and multicultural industrial environment.

Reporting to the Head of Industrial Methods Department, you will support and supervise shipyard activities related to steelwork and shipbuilding operations.

You will assist local teams in understanding and applying technical documentation and industrial requirements while ensuring compliance with quality, cost and schedule objectives, with a constant focus on productivity improvement and operational safety.

Main Responsibilities

Site Assistance & Supervision

  • Support the shipyard teams in the interpretation and implementation of technical documentation, procedures and industrial requirements.
  • Assist production management for the relevant trades to ensure deadlines, cost targets and quality standards are achieved.
  • Participate in conformity management, inspections and testing activities.
  • Supervise preparation activities within your specialty by ensuring:
    • accuracy of industrialization drawings and documentation;
    • availability of equipment and resources;
    • compliance of the equipment and tools to be implemented.

Production Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in the preparation of schedules, simulations and cost estimates.
  • Contribute to weekly progress monitoring alongside supervisors, workshop teams and subcontractors when applicable.
  • Advise and guide supervisory staff to ensure production commitments and timelines are respected.
  • Propose technical repair solutions when required.
  • Recommend efficient workload distribution in coordination with workshop management.
  • Provide quantified proposals for improving equipment and production tools.
  • Actively contribute to continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position or equivalent significant experience.
  • Mandatory experience in the shipbuilding industry.

Technical Skills

You have strong knowledge of:

  • shipbuilding and steelwork techniques;
  • workshop and production team supervision;
  • production follow-up and progress monitoring methods.

You are able to:

  • anticipate methods, resources and production means required for shipyard activities;
  • monitor production progress and optimize efficiency;
  • work in a structured, rigorous and methodical manner.
