The team builds and supports Infrastructure across a range of technologies including Linux, MQ, WAS and Oracle. What will you do? Evaluate user requirements and offer guidance in identifying issues and potential solutions Install and configure Linux operating environments, along with associated storage and tooling products, apply best practices to ensure optimal performance, reliability, security, workflow efficiency, and resource management Troubleshoot problems related to servers, networks and operating systems Stay informed and actively participate in the planning and execution of business IT projects that involve the development and delivery of Linux systems Assess server provisioning processes and implement improvements in line with DevOps methodologies Configure VxVM/LVM file systems, perform firmware upgrades, and establish high availability clusters at both server and application levels, including shared clustered file systems Set up automation using shell scripting to enhance efficiency and reduce the time spent on tasks Provide comprehensive day-to-day Production Support services, including resolving live incidents and engaging in post-resolution problem management activities Offer on-call support during Go-Live activities Support 1st line engineers on a 2nd and 3rd line basis, occasionally assisting on the front line Technologies we use in the role Required: Proficiency in Linux (RHEL – OS Versions 6/7/8) and server admin skills (3-5 years’ experience is a must) Optional: SUSE Linux, Solaris, AIX, Perl, Python, Splunk, Puppet/Ansible, Cloud Technologies (e.g. AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, API’s (e.g. Mulesoft, Kong) Skills & experience Experience with making frequent changes, especially in setting up and using automated CI/CD pipelines. In-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems administration (Red Hat 6/7/8 and Solaris) and creating, designing and implementing network communications and solutions Significant experience in installing, configuring and managing VCS v7 (Veritas Volume Manager/File System and Cluster Server) Familiarity with SAN/NAS technologies, TCP/IP networking, and basic infrastructure services like SMTP, DNS, FTP, NTP, SSH, LDAP, TLS, SSL and HTTP Experience using enterprise management tools such as BMC, HPSA, VMware vSphere, etc. A good understanding of different technology layers in the application landscape, including storage, operating systems, network, database, and applications Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment and providing assistance in production support Optional Experience in Payments is an advantage Industry standard certifications for UNIX/Linux domain Background in Microsoft Windows Server technologies a big plus ITIL methodology Being a technical geek is a big plus! ︎ The offer: Prestigious position at one of the world's largest banks Competitive salary with a B2B contract 100% remote work (Poland based) Typical working day 9am – 5pm, but may be asked to flex and start/finish later to align with global stakeholders on occasion.
