About data team and role Our rapidly expanding Data team is central to driving business growth through data. Consisting of 5 Data Analysts and 2 Data Engineers under one manager, we’re on a mission to harness data's full potential to fuel strategic insights and decisions.  Working as a centralized team, we collaborate closely with leaders across different departments. This partnership ensures our data-driven initiatives align with the company's strategic objectives and inspire action. Currently we are looking for an experienced  Data Engineer  to join our Data Team and help us make our company even more data-driven. This role is not just about maintaining our tech stack; it’s about leveraging the latest in data engineering to empower our data & business strategies and drive insightful decisions that will ultimately steer our company towards growth. What will your daily activities look like? Modeling data as per business needs using standards like Kimball, and performing data discovery to uncover and integrate new data sources. Designing and implementing incremental ELT pipelines utilizing Python and PySpark to efficiently process and manage data flows using top-notch tools, like Dagster or Databricks. Continuously improving the Delta Lakehouse architecture to boost its efficiency, ensuring optimal performance and increasing data quality. Engaging in data lineage, cataloging, and governance activities to maintain a clear and secure data ecosystem. Upholding engineering and programming excellence across the team by adhering to Software Engineering (SWE) standards, including testing, (CI/CD), providing code reviews, monitoring data ecosystem, and contributing to documentation. Collaborating with Data Analysts to establish best practices and processes for data projects, fostering a cohesive and productive data management strategy. Working closely with DevOps and Engineering teams to ensure high quality data systems. Requirements Proven experience in data engineering, including designing and implementing data pipelines, data modeling, and data architecture enhancements. Proficient in Python and PySpark for data processing and pipeline development. Experience with data modeling standards such as Kimball methodology for data warehousing. Strong understanding of data lineage, cataloging, and governance principles. Hands-on experience with Software Engineering (SWE) standards, including testing, CI/CD processes, code reviews, and documentation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with data analysts and other stakeholders effectively. At least B2 Polish writing and verbal communication skills. B2/C1 English writing and verbal communication skills. Nice to Have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with Delta Lakehouse architecture and its optimization techniques.
