Data Scientist in Bucuresti

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to support analytics development, data research and troubleshooting;

  • Work with application developers on designing and developing solutions for data management and analytics;

  • Analyze fixed income data to drive optimization and improvement of the Yield Book analytics products;

  • Engaged in the communications with product management and data vendors on technical data requirements;

  • Conduct detailed data analysis utilizing a wide variety of sources and tools to verify accuracy of fixed income data and update when necessary;

  • Research new global data requirements and maintain existing database of data sources;

  • Collaborate with index development team to streamline existing processes.

Required Skills and Behaviors

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Python and R;

  • Strong database knowledge and proficiency with SQL Statement;

  • Knowledge/experience with UNIX/Linux environment;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Great verbal and written communication skills;

  • Highly motivated and responsive and able to work as a team member and independently.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in C/C++/Java programming language is a strong plus;

  • Knowledge/experience with fixed income and equities market data is strongly preferred;

  • Experience in Shell/Perl scripting languages is a plus;

  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services is a plus;

  • Knowledge/experience with ETL Tool (Talend) is plus.

Qualifications

Advanced academic degree (PhD or MS) in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or similar quantitative fields with at least 1-3 years of professional experience.
