Description: Marsh Controllership Team is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Bucharest - Floreasca office:Accounting Controller Assistant What can you expect:This role will cover the preparation and management of all regulatory accounting and controller operations for operations located in Central CEE region. We will count on you to make accounting decisions, oversee the control environment, manage internal and external reporting , and collaborate closely with the local accounting provider, FP&A, Business Leaders, and the Accounting Operations Teams.What you will be rewarded with:Possibility of fast growth and career development within a growing team and businessCompetitive salary based on employment contractAttractive benefits package (including private health insurance, meal vouchers, life insurance, lunch card, language courses)Hybrid work model (3 days at the office/2 days home office)Flexible working hours (start time can vary between 8AM to 10AM; standard working hours are 9AM - 8PM with a one-hour lunch break)We will rely on you to:Manage relations with internal and external stakeholders / clients, such as a business stakeholders, local accounting company, accounting operations team, tax advisors, tax office, auditors etc.Review the monthly reporting package received from local accounting vendorEnsure US GAAP and local GAAP compliance and tax compliance (VAT, WHT, CIT) for required operation companyHandle the month-end closing activities, including posting revenues, reconciling accounts, and processing accruals in the Oracle systemTake responsibility for reconciling the Statutory vs. US GAAP reporting packagesReview local accounts and assesses local tax submissionsOversee financial statements review to ensure data accuracy and compliance with Local Accounting PoliciesCoordinate or assist in the coordination of the annual external auditManage preparation of the local transfer pricing documentationAnalyze regular reports, including tax reports, generated from Oracle systemsProvide support to Accounting Operations and Controllership concerning Accounts Payable, T&E, GL and Accounts Receivables when neededEnsure the implementation of appropriate finance and controls proceduresRecommend and support for any projects aimed at enhancing accounting technologyWhat you need to have: Min. 7 years of experience in accounting / audit / controllership in a global organizationACCA or an equivalent professional qualificationGood knowledge of accounting principles and taxes (VAT, CIT, WHT)Experience in local GAAP to group GAAP reconciliation including US GAAP reportingFluency in EnglishGreat command of Excel, including the ability to collect and integrate accounting data from different sourcesStrong project management skills and understanding of processes and controlsVery good team collaboration and communication skillsWhat makes you stand out:Previous finance role in insurance or brokerage companyPrior roles as a senior accountant / accounting manager with a focus on statutory / regulatory reporting or BIG 4 audit experience Working knowledge of Oracle 12If you would like to apply for this position, please send your CV in English.#LI-MW1Marsh is the world’s leading insurance broker and risk adviser.
