About the Tech Opportunity
We are not a typical ecommerce company. We have built a proprietary internal platform that powers our entire creative-to-revenue pipeline: ad creation workflows, AI-powered compliance checking, performance analytics, contribution margin tracking, creative testing automation, and increasingly, AI-generated ad content. This platform is our competitive moat and a key reason we have scaled so rapidly.
The engineering team is technically capable but lacks the strategic vision and business-context depth to build autonomously. We need a technical leader who understands both the technology AND the business model — someone who can turn a high-potential internal platform into a true AI-powered revenue engine.
The Role
Your primary mission: use technology and AI to massively accelerate revenue growth. This is not about cost-cutting or back-office automation. This is about building systems that produce better ads, optimize performance automatically, and give the marketing team superpowers.
Your scope covers all engineering related to the core marketing and revenue platform. Separate engineering resources supporting funnels/CRO and the mobile app are managed by another partner and are outside your initial scope.
What You Will Own
- Platform vision, roadmap, and architecture for the proprietary growth engine.
- Engineering team leadership: hiring, quality bar, delivery cadence, and building autonomy.
- AI strategy: creative ideation, automated ad generation, intelligent testing, cross-market translation, and compliance automation.
- Data integrity: ensuring contribution margin, attribution, and performance data are trustworthy — this is the reward function for everything else.
- Revenue acceleration through technology: every project must connect to measurable revenue impact.
You Are the Right Fit If
- Exceptionally sharp and fast to learn — you can absorb an entire business model, marketing mechanics, and platform within weeks.
- You understand marketing and advertising. Experience with ecommerce, ad tech, martech, or direct-response growth systems is a massive bonus.
- Deeply AI-forward: you use AI coding agents, understand LLM capabilities, and can envision how AI transforms creative production.
- You can lead a team AND build. Hands-on enough to architect systems, strategic enough to set direction.
- You think like a business owner, not just an engineer — every technical decision serves revenue growth.
- You build autonomously: given context and objectives, you figure out the best path and execute.
Nice to Have
- Experience with internal tooling, growth platforms, or creative workflow systems.
- Experience leading engineering in a fast-growth ecommerce or advertising environment.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and analytics environments.
90-Day Success
Full understanding of the business model and platform. Delivered a technical roadmap with clear revenue-impact milestones. Engineering team operating with higher autonomy and speed. At least one high-impact AI feature shipped. The founder is no longer writing engineering specs or managing daily engineering operations.
