As a Data Quality Risk Supervisor – Independent Assessment, your primary mission is to conduct independent reviews of the First Line of Defense (1LOD) frameworks and practices related to data quality risk. You will apply established methodologies to challenge how 1LOD embeds data quality into its operational risk and permanent control frameworks.

The Independent Assessment team currently includes 4 FTEs in Paris and is expanding with 1 FTE in Bucharest, delivering 100–150 challenge deliverables per year. Each supervisor is responsible for their own assessments and challenge memos.

Key Responsibilities:

Independent Assessment & Challenge Activities

You will be responsible for performing high‑quality assessments and producing structured challenge memos covering:

  • The integration of data quality risks within non‑financial risk management frameworks (Permanent Control, ICCC, RCSA, Losses & Incidents, etc.);

  • The deployment and operational effectiveness of the Group’s data management framework across all BUs/SUs;

  • Consideration of data risk within upstream assessments for major transformations (M&A, Project Management, NPSC, outsourcing, etc.);

  • How business lines identify, assess, and mitigate data‑related risks across their processes;

  • Definition, adequacy, and implementation of remediation plans addressing significant risk area.

Deliverables

Your work will include producing:

  • Challenge analyses of data quality risk assessments within NFR frameworks, upon request from framework owners;

  • Challenge analyses of data management framework execution, including evaluation of:

    • KDO (key regulatory and risk reports/metrics) scoring;

    • CDE (critical data elements) controls, monitoring, and lineage;

    • Data quality issue remediation;

    • Annual plan items and thematic reviews;

  • Recommendations and escalations in case of material risks, weaknesses, or breaches of risk appetite.

Stakeholder Engagement

You will interact with a wide range of stakeholders, notably:

  • KDO and CDE owners across BUs/SUs (mainly DFIN, RISQ, CPLE);

  • Chief Data Officers and Data Quality Managers;

  • GCO/CDO and Group data management stakeholder.

Profile Required:

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including in data management;

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree, ideally in data management, risk management, finance, or audit;

  • Experience in audit, permanent control, or 2LOD/3LOD environments within a banking context.

Core Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Data, regulatory reporting, and risk reporting;

  • Fluency in French and English;

  • High adaptability and comfort working in evolving, cross‑functional environments;

  • Strong ability to challenge constructively, articulate independent opinions, and influence decisions;

  • Proven autonomy in managing complex topics and delivering results;

  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively across Paris/Bucharest teams.
