Your day to day:The role is to work with software developers in the Unified Communications and Connectivity Practice’s Software Engineering team. This team of developers build the next generation platform to allow our customers to consume next generation unified communications and connectivity products in a cloud native manner. Key deliverables of the role are: ensure that the continuous delivery of new software projects has security requirements built in as the software is developed and that compliance to Vodafone Security standards and policies is maintained. ensure that our development considers latest thinking, patterns is software security development and best practice - providing recommendation, with user stories, UCC Services management team on approach and automation related to security work in a DevSecOps team to develop new software projects against Communications Platform as a Service APIs to enhance the Vodafone feature set in the Converged Communications and Contact Centre space Research open source capabilities that Vodafone could leverage to create new services Take a shift-left approach to development, ensuring that testing and security are at the heart of the software created, using techniques such as TDD and BDD. Work in a team to produce emergent design for a microservices based architecture Work with Vodafone architects on new designs, providing input into the best way to solve problems with software development Bring your ideas into to the Platform team management on how best to enhance our software engineering capability. Keep up to date on current thinking, and design patterns in software development to ensure that software produced remains fresh Work in a DevSecOps team to develop new software for the UC Platform based on the Product Owner’s backlog to offer our customers a cloud native experience in consuming our services. Ensure that software produced has excellent unit testing coverage to ensure that changes can be made safely. With these activities, you will have a great impact on our business:Create software to solve Vodafone business problems in Unified Communications Connectivity Platform Actively contribute to the team improvement activities Learn new things and put them into practice Own tasks committed to and see through to completion Remain current on industry developments and cyber threats iEnsure that capabilities are deployed through a continuous development pipeline with security requirements satisfied at the time of deployment Proactively monitor and fix issues in the UCC Practice production platform. Engineer solutions on AWS and GCP using Infrastructure As Code methods such Terraform and Ansible. Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services ( IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers.) Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common shared service applications on cloud ( Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab Runners, Vault) Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards ( Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency) Work with the cloud engineering teams and development teams to create effective CI/CD implementations, helping to configure and maintain them. Help with the release management of new software into the production platform. Be part of a 24/7 support schedule to help address out of hours production issues With these skills, you are a great candidate:A demonstrated ability to create software to solve business problems Any of:Scala Go Java NodeJS/ ECMAScript/JavaScript/ Terraform Ansible Unit testing frameworks usage BDD domain specific languages and constructs ( Cucumber Gherkin) Docker Microservices design patterns SOLID principles Infrastructure as Code Demonstrable Cloud service provider experience (ideally AWS) - infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of services including Compute, Storage, Networking and Kubernetes Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and bash scripting Experience of working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and continuous testing tools Experience working within an Agile environment Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, Scala. Experienced AWS DevOps engineers with solid Terraform and solid programming experience in the named languages. Sounds like the perfect job?
