As a fast-growing multinational operating across multiple markets, we're looking for a strategic and commercially minded Global Finance Director to help lead our finance function into its next phase of global scale and maturity.
The Global Finance Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s global financial operations, ensuring compliance across regions, and delivering accurate, insightful financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
This is a key leadership role for a finance professional who not only masters the technical and operational elements of global finance but also brings strong business acumen, commercial thinking, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Business Partnership
- Partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to support strategic planning and long-term financial sustainability.
- Contribute to business model analysis, pricing strategies, contract review, and expansion plans from a financial perspective.
- Deliver clear, actionable insights to support decision-making at the executive and board level.
Group Reporting & Board-Level Insight
- Lead the consolidation and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual group-level financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPI dashboards.
- Prepare board packs and investor-level reporting in collaboration with the CFO.
- Ensure robust group-wide reconciliations, financial integrity, and compliance with internal controls.
Financial Operations & Compliance
- Oversee global accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, commissions, and supplier payments.
- Manage multi-entity accounting across jurisdictions, including intercompany transactions and currency consolidations.
- Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and statutory reporting requirements in multiple countries, working with local advisors as needed.
- Maintain high-quality client records and financial documentation.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Lead and continuously improve the company’s budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting processes.
- Conduct scenario analysis and variance reporting to drive accountability and operational efficiency.
- Track and monitor performance against budget and key business metrics.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Build and mentor a globally distributed finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to scale financial operations efficiently.
- Leverage financial systems and tools (e.g. Xero, NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks) to improve reporting, visibility, and control.
Requirements
- Qualifications: ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification required.
- Experience: Minimum 13 years in finance and accounting, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role managing multi-entity international operations. SaaS or technology industry experience is highly preferred.
- Board & Stakeholder Reporting: Proven experience in preparing and presenting board-level reports and executive dashboards.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations beyond finance, including client contract review, pricing, sales models, and strategic planning.
- Global Expertise: Hands-on experience with international finance, cross-border compliance, and tax/VAT requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
- Systems Proficiency: Advanced use of financial software (Xero, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with ERP and reporting tools is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
