Career that change livesIn our Team in Romania we are hiring for an experienced Market Access & Government Affairs Manager.The position is based in Bucharest, Romania, and it will be reporting on to Country Manager Romania & Moldova. As a Market Access & Government Affairs Manager you will: Create, develop and guide a multi-functional Government Affairs position in Medtronic Romania in order to provide an effective regulatory and reimbursement environment for Medtronic to conduct its business in the country. Co-ordinate activities related to EU Funding with relevant stakeholders in the country and in Brussels Execute and update as appropriate the Government Affairs strategy that will enable to raise awareness and strengthen confidence in Medtronic as a vendor of high-tech cost-effective medical equipment, therapies and solutions, possessing the capacity to serve as a resource for quantitative and qualitative improvements in the local healthcare system. Further develop networks with HAs, Governmental bodies and all relevant stakeholders Identify potential Top Down deals and opportunities for Public Private Partnerships Identify and Implement projects with the European Commission, World Bank and other relevant financing channels in Europe and beyond. Develop or further enhance local Associations of Medical Device companies as well as liaise with Amcham, US and Irish Embassy and other relevant entities. Develop network of vendors/lobbying experts that will enable the development of regional strategy and execution of national programs and governmental activities. Further develop networks with HAs, Governmental bodies and all relevant stakeholders A Day in the Life We offer you a position where you will: Identify opportunities leveraging EU funding, liaising with country and Brussels based stakeholders. Understands business strategies of all businesses and the importance of Government Affairs and Reimbursement activities for business success. Maintains/establishes a high-level professional network within the Medical Device Industry, regional and local Government authorities, Healthcare providers, parastatals, Health Economic organizations and other relevant decision making representatives to anticipate and influence legislative trends and thereby create a stable and positive environment for Medtronic business in the country. Ensures that the Company plays a strong and leading role in National Associations in the country and all advocacy and public relations decisions and activities undertaken by Associations in order to create a platform for defending of primary importance for the industry. Conducts regular and ongoing analysis of the shifting socio-economic, political, and media environment in the country in order to provide management with timely reports and information on potential opportunities and threats as relates to the Company\s short and long-term business activities. Proactively engages in a dialogue with key stakeholders to seek reasonable solutions to the important issues that affect Medtronic products and operations, being prepared to mount, when necessary, vigorous strategies to preserve Medtronic most fundamental business interests. Oversee advocacy activities directed at the government, legislative and regulatory bodies, particularly in the areas of registration, taxation, advertising, reimbursement in order to create an optimal business environment. Initiates, organizes and participates at high-level events to support Government Affairs and Reimbursement activities. Positions and represents Medtronic and its businesses in the best possible way in relevant Health Care Bodies in the country as a Company committed to the country and its people. Builds a platform for the Reimbursement activities within the country. Works closely with the EMEA Government Affairs and Reimbursement/Health Economics team to harmonize processes across Countries. Oversee and direct employee communications programs and activities, including the distribution of relevant statements and press releases issued by. Must Have 5+ years of work experience in the local Health Care Industry and other relevant areas. Successful multiyear GA experience within a multinational company with strong reputation in the country and/or served in the public sector on health care policy. Successful multiyear experience with Politicians, local Economic organizations, and Health Care providers. Ability to work effectively and deliver outstanding results in a complex cross-functional environment. Out of the box thinking, excellent ability to understand and use economic analyses in creating value arguments on health care products. Excellent internal and external communication skills and a representative appearance. University Diploma, preferable in Economics. A PhD and/or western M.B.A. degree would be an asset in this position. Native local language speaker; fluent Business English (both written and oral); any other Eastern European Language is an asset. Ability to travel extensively within Romania Proven track record on developing initiatives with national or regional authorities a good established network with government institutions and preferably connected with international organizations like world bank, EU etc. High ethical standards Nice to have:7+ years of work experience in the local Health Care Industry and other relevant areas.
