The programme aims to provide colleagues with a better experience of working at Tesco, enhanced by technology that’s accessible anywhere and available to everyone. By reducing admin our Managers and People Partners will be able to focus on building teams and capability. And our Colleagues will be able to be more productive and focus on building their skills and careers.The Role – Product Manager – Colleague TransformationWhilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:Have accountability for complex/ large product(s)/ that involve multiple internal/external stakeholders.Leading the development plans: shaping the overall strategy, defining and prioritising business requirements and working with the different business units to ensure their plans are integratedWork with other Product Managers, architects and the development team to deliver the roadmap using agile methodologies: prioritising requirements, answering development questions and resolving issues, always putting the customer first.Getting involved and working with a team of developers to deliver value iterativelyStrong technical skills as working predominately with APIsProactively seeking improvements to our ways of working across the various teams involved in the development and ongoing management of our API platform portfolioMonitoring and understanding the potential of new technologies and business models, identifying and developing new opportunities for Tesco.This role will best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is well organised, pragmatic and a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and, most importantly, puts our customers first.QualificationsKey Skills and ExperienceYou’ll need to have demonstrated experience of:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsA methodical/ analytical approach and great problem-solving skillsAttitude and the aptitude to learn new product area/domain quicklyGreat presentation and persuasion skillsTeam player who could work collaboratively with other members of the teamOwnership, responsiveness and commitment towards assigned workStrong decision making and prioritization skills, especially when multiple trade-offs are involved, and faster decision are requiredEmpathy and good listening skills to understand the needs/ pain points of your customers/ stakeholdersExcellent facilitation to effectively facilitate requirement gathering/elicitation sessions with senior business leaders/ stakeholdersExpertise of Agile methodologies, writing effective user stories/ acceptance criterionsUnderstanding of User Research/ Design Thinking conceptsGreat people skills and can gain respect and trust of team members and others working with youHaving proven success in working on unstructured problems, defining hypothesis, creating MVPs, running experiments and analysing results to drive data-driven decisionsTechnical competence to influence and understand the solution context and approach and aid engineering in estimating the complexity of work being requestedPrioritisation and decision-making skills demonstrating how these have taken into account business priorities, complexity, dependencies and value.Articulating a product strategy in terms of consumer and business value.Additional InformationBenefitsTesco is a diverse and exciting employer, dedicated to being #aplacetogeton, providing career-defining opportunities to all of our colleagues.
