Business Need / Purpose of the RoleThe Project Manager is the primary client representative and has to determine and implement the exact needs of the client, based on knowledge of the organization being represented. Successful contract fulfilment is the primary goal of the function. The ability to adapt to the various internal procedures of the client and to form close links with the nominated representatives, is essential in ensuring that the key deliverables of the project are realized – particularly relative to of financials, time, quality, scope plus client satisfaction.Position within the CompanyThe Project Manager reports to the Project Director as part of the Project Management Office, consisting of Project Management, Project Engineering and support staff.The Project Manager is accountable for ensuring that everyone on the cross-functional project team understands and executes his or her role, feels empowered and supported in the role, knows the roles of the other team members and acts upon the belief that those roles will be performed.Key Responsibilities and Specific AccountabilitiesIncluding but not limited to:Advise the sales organisation on contractual and operational risks as part of the bidding process and prior to final contract negotiationArrange and attend customer kick off meetings following receipt of the PO with the relevant commercial and sales team representatives in order to finalise any unresolved issuesWork with the commercial representative and the Project Engineer to translate the contract into the project plan, scope of work, functionality and determine the project budget based on the agreed supply chain strategyWork with the Supply chain team and to consider the most efficient solution from a cost and risk perspective in order to ensure the successful execution of the contract to meet the customers’ requirementsEnsure the project is pro-actively executed according to the agreed scope, schedule and budget.Review and approve and oversee the Project documentation submission scheduleLead the cross-functional project team from contract award to final acceptance by the customerActs as primary point of contact for the customerCreating and updating deliverables such as the project plan, project reports, risk analysis and action logManage commercial aspects of the project: receivables, formal provision of contract variations, invoice plan, liquidated damages, performance bonds project cash flow, etcLeads project kick-offs (commercial and technical with the support of the nominated Project Engineer), hosts customer visits, and arrange and co-ordinate acceptance tests and ensure successful acceptance and close-down of the projectsDeveloping and maintaining the project plansManaging and reporting the project progress and budgetManaging the project stakeholdersManaging the project teamManaging the project riskManaging potential project conflictsConduct a lessons learnt following completion of the project to ensure the wider business understands what went well and suggested improvementsJob Knowledge / Education and Qualifications:Minimum 5 years experience as a Project ManagerA minimum of 5 years working experience in engineered-product B2B industryA minimum of 3 years working experience with international contractsA minimum of 3 years international experience in a capital equipment/solution driven organizationDegree qualified (desirable)Knowledge of contract law and commercial terms and conditionsExperience in a projects organizationStrong commercial acumenWorking experience and/or educational background in accordance with IPMA/PRINCE2 standardsFluency in Polish and English languages is essential, with the additional desirable of German speaking.Strong influential and communication skillsI.T literate, SAP knowledge and Microsoft office skills including Microsoft Project are essentialOther relevant informationRemote position with occasional travel to Head Office in Todmorden, UKFlexible to occasionally travel international (average 20%)Flexible work hours as required – not 9 to 5 mentalityAffinity with technical solutions
