Shipyard Damen Galati S.A.The seaman (seafaring personnel holding a certificate) is part of the minimum crew established by the Romanian Naval Authority. They work safely on board the vessel, taking part in specific maneuvers.Key accountabilities• Performs the duty of seaman on watch, in accordance with legal requirements;• Participates in activities to prepare the ship for sea (maneuvering) or other technological operations, carrying out operations designated by the person in charge of these activities;• Participates in the maneuvering of ships under construction, reporting to the chief maneuvering officer;• Performs the handling of installations, deck equipment and reports any malfunction or anomaly found in their operation;• Participates in the embarkation (disembarkation) of materials on (from) the ship;• Carries out other duties as assigned by the hierarchical superiors or the officer of the watch;• It is necessary that he/she has a good knowledge of the duties assigned to him/her according to the provisions of the national legislation, the instructions of the shipowner or operator, as well as international agreements and conventions to which Romania is a party;• They must know and apply the requirements of Romanian legislation and the treaties to which Romania is a party and which regulate the legal regime of the territorial sea, the contiguous zone, the exclusive economic zone, the border waters of Romania, the open sea and the areas in which they sail;• It is necessary to take measures to protect the ship from shipwreck, collision, fire, and to comply with the occupational health and safety rules laid down in regulations and instructions, in order to prevent accidents and occupational diseases;• Compliance with the environmental legislation in force;Skills & experience- High school / vocational school graduate - Seaman's licence- Certificate of competence: seafarer - an advantage- Valid IMO courses Job Detail Reference number GL00171 Date posted 27/03/2024 Closing date 27/12/2024 Location Galati Country Romania Expertise Repair & Services Product Group Damen Romanian Yards Company Santierul Naval Damen Galati S.A.
