This is not a pure design or advisory role, we are looking for an architect who actively builds, deploys, configures, and validates their solutions.You will lead several disaster recovery (DR), backup modernization, and cloud resilience initiatives, working directly in Azure to create and implement functional, tested, and production-ready architectures for one of Jolera’s key enterprise clients.Key ResponsibilitiesHands-On Cloud Architecture & Implementation
Design and build Azure DR, backup, and infrastructure solutions — from architecture diagrams to actual deployment.Configure Azure Site Recovery, Backup Vaults, replication, storage, networking, and failover workflows.Implement Terraform templates, IaC modules, and Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines.Perform hands-on troubleshooting, optimization, and validation in lower and production environments.Disaster Recovery & Resilience ProgramsLead DR architecture for compute, storage, networking, and hybrid integrations.Conduct failover testing, runbook execution, recovery simulations, and readiness assessments.Ensure practical RTO/RPO alignment through real-world testing and tuning.Backup ModernizationArchitect and configure solutions using Barracuda, Veeam, Azure Backup, and other enterprise platforms.Review and refine backup jobs, retention policies, repositories, and restore procedures.Build improved data protection workflows aligned with compliance and cybersecurity requirements.Network & Platform DRDeploy and test network failover patterns: VNETs, firewalls, routing, ExpressRoute/S2S, peering, and cross-region DR.Assist with Power Platform DR and backup strategy from an infrastructure perspective.Support ADO resilience, repository structure, and Terraform-based deployment pipelines.Documentation & GovernanceProduce high-level and low-level designs, as-built documentation, and DR runbooks.Collaborate with Jolera’s engineers, SOC/NOC teams, and client SMEs.Provide technical leadership while remaining deeply involved in execution.Required Skills & Experience8+ years of cloud/infrastructure engineering and architecture experience with a strong hands-on profile.Expert-level experience deploying and operating Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity, security, and DR technologies).Strong experience with Terraform, Git, and Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines / CI-CD.Proven track record designing, building, and testing enterprise DR architectures.Experience configuring Barracuda, Veeam, Azure Backup, or equivalent enterprise backup platforms.Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent).Ability to run DR tests, troubleshoot complex failures, and refine architectures accordingly.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.Nice-to-HaveMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or equivalent.Prior experience in MSP/MSSP or large enterprise multi-tenant environments.Background in hybrid/on-prem to cloud migrations and modernization.Familiarity with NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001 as they relate to DR and backup governance.What We OfferOpportunity to work alongside global experts in cloud, security, and infrastructure.Exposure to complex enterprise DR and resilience initiatives.A collaborative, delivery-focused environment that values hands-on technical leadership.
