Role description:
• Oversee journal postings for both technical and non-technical topics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards;
• Manage cash settlement processes, leading closing activities in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, OMEGA), including complex foreign exchange runs and open item resolution;
• Review and approve journal entries and adjustments made by junior staff, providing guidance and training as needed;
• Lead reconciliations for intercompany operations and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies efficiently;
• Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with data from source systems and technical accounting tools, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements;
• Prepare and review comprehensive analysis memos (e.g. claims movements, unusual technical events) providing insights to senior staff;
• Conduct in-depth baseline results analysis, focusing on new, renewed, and canceled business, including technical results and IFRS17 KPIs;
• Generate detailed reports and perform advanced analysis on FX movements, tax balances, and expense trends, presenting findings to stakeholders;
• Provide support to local finance teams for internal and external audit requests, preparing audit documentation and addressing queries effectively.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred;
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting;
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP) and MS Excel;
• Strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of IFRS standards and regulatory requirements;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
