You will be part of a team of 5 FTEs in total (3 based in Amsterdam and 2 in Bucharest) that performs independent validation on BCBS 239 related requirements. While BCBS 239 was introduced by the ECB with the aim to strengthen a bank’s risk data aggregation capabilities and risk reporting practices. IVU is an unit required by the ECB to validate and report on the bank’s adherence and progress with BCBS239. The main reports of the IVU are shared with the ECB.This role requires experience in operating in a complex, international environment ensuring experience along with the different areas like Data Management, Audit, Operational Risk management, Informational Risk management. A Risk focused attitude, analytical skills and broad banking knowledge.Your responsibilitiesThe Independent Validation Unit resides within the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) domain, reporting to the Head of NFR. Next to the IVU, the Non-Financial Risk Department covers the activities related to Corporate Operational Risk Management, Corporate Informational Risk Management, Corporate Security & Investigations, Innovation and digitalization office, Professional Practice Unit and the ERM programme. You will be operating in a challenging and constantly changing environment, with regular contacts with Senior Managers of other risk domains and divisions at Corporate and Tier 1 level. Validating and assessing ING’s BCBS 239 compliance via own investigations (Thematic Reviews) and using (key) control testing results; The IVU reports the validation results and recommendations for improvement to the relevant committees, decision/steering bodies and regulator (ECB), including monitoring the follow up; The IVU has an important role in bringing in its expertise and experience on BCBS 239, IT, Data and Reporting from a validation perspective and will be involved in any update of BCBS 239 Framework and Governance of ING.
