The Senior PHP Developer will be responsible for driving the development and maintenance of applications which are used for automation, data collection and aggregation, end user self services in a very agile environment.Role description / Responsibilities and job tasks (typical day):- Design, develop, test, deploy, support and maintain PHP scripts/applications and web portals based on business requirements using approved technologies and secure coding standards- Analyze requirements, provide robust time and effort estimation- Help other developers in the team on programming issues, code review- Interact with other teams and departments on common projects- Ensure quality of code and applications, adherence to best practices and coding standards, compliance with DB internal policies- Stay current on coding standards and techniques, architectural principles and best practices- Create and maintain documentation, how to s, release notesIdeal background: - Regulated Financial Service experience 7+ years Large scale environments- Experience in building Enterprise Scale Software 5+ yearsEssential skills/experience: (cannot do the job without these, includes specific technology or software skills required )- Full stack PHP development with multiple years of (hands-on) experience- Strong Knowledge of common frameworks for PHP, in particular Symfony- Strong SQL and database design skills (preferably Oracle based)- Good skills in HTML5, CSS, Javascript- Experience creating and using APIs (Rest, SOAP)- Experienced with versioning tools, e.g. Stash/Git/Bitbucket- Good SDLC experience- Familiar with network protocols and systems (ssh, ldap, AD, DNS, IP, )Other skills: (operational, deployment experience, project management, etc.)- Additional programming / scripting languages (Python, Java, PowerShell) are strong +- Jira, Confluence- operating systems skills (Linux (RHEL), Windows, MacOS)- Knowledge of HA / DR implementations and concepts- Scrum, agile methodologiesMost important thing:- Hands-on person, ability to think outside the box, getting things done and agile driven mindset.Certificates / Accreditations: (TOGAF, Citrix, MS Azure, etc.)n/aBasic Qualifications:n/aPreferred Qualifications:Soft skills: Strong team player, but can also work independently and is self-motivated.
