Role Overview
We are looking for a senior, hands-on Country Manager to take full ownership of our Romanian entity and studio operations.
This role combines strategic oversight with strong operational execution and acts as the key representative of the business locally. You will be responsible for launching and scaling the studio, managing day-to-day operations, building and leading a large team, and ensuring full compliance with local regulations. Over time, you will take on full accountability for local governance, including ownership of key decisions, documentation, and contracts.
The position requires close collaboration with headquarters, which defines global standards, processes, and strategy, while you ensure their effective implementation and performance on the ground.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in general management, operations, or country leadership roles;
proven experience managing large operational teams (100+ employees);
experience in iGaming or closely related industries;
strong operational mindset with the ability to build efficient processes and maintain high performance standards;
experience working in international structures with HQ and local entity setup;
solid understanding of compliance, legal responsibility, and operational governance;
strong leadership skills in high-discipline, high-volume environments;
fluent Romanian and professional English.
Nice to Have
previous experience as General Manager, Country Head, or CEO in a local market;
background in live casino, studio operations, or production environments;
experience managing shift-based or high-turnover teams;
familiarity with Romanian regulatory and licensing environment.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
take full ownership of day-to-day studio operations, ensuring stable 24/7 performance, high service quality, and consistent delivery of production standards;
monitor and improve operational efficiency and team performance.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
build and lead a high-performing local team and management structure;
manage large-scale teams, including operational staff and support functions;
establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and company culture.
Local Governance & Administration
act as the key local representative of the company;
oversee legal, finance, HR, and administrative functions within the local entity;
manage relationships with local authorities, vendors, and external partners;
ensure accuracy and ownership of local documentation and reporting.
Financial Management & Performance
manage local operational budgets and ensure cost discipline;
track and improve performance against key operational and financial KPIs.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
ensure full compliance with local legislation, licensing requirements, and internal policies;
proactively manage risks and maintain strong operational governance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration with HQ
act as the main point of contact between Romania and headquarters;
collaborate with global teams to launch, operate, and scale the studio in line with company standards and strategy.
