About The Job Bring order into data chaos! PubNub is looking for a hands-on, experienced data engineer who will partner with the data architect and business, product, and engineering teams, to design, build and maintain data structures to facilitate reporting and monitoring key performance indicators. In addition, you would be excited by the prospect of executing the transformation of the company’s data architecture to support architectures & processes that meet both internal & external needs. Most importantly, you are familiar with working with petabytes of real-time data in a modern data tech stack. ResponsibilitiesBe the technical lead for usage pipelines. You will define the enterprise data strategy and roadmap to make data analytics a competitive advantage. In addition, you will partner with stakeholders in the Business, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure the strategy and data infrastructure is built to support their data reporting & analytics needs while assisting with data-related technical issues. Executing the data blueprint. Build and launch real-time data processing pipelines while simultaneously optimizing for performance and stakeholder requirements. You will organize (gather, store, and prepare) and mine massive, fed with petabytes of data, data sets of both structured and unstructured data, by implementing appropriate infrastructure and data frameworks to house data for reporting & analytics.You are providing data-driven solutions to business problems. You will build analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, extracting data analytics into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition & retention. In addition, you will partner with product management in building POCs and building revenue-generating solutions. About YouMinimum QualificationsBS in Computer, Biological or Physical Science, related field, or relevant experience 3 to 5 years of hands-on data engineering experience3 to 5 years working with Apache Spark3 to 5 years working with modern languages like Python, Scala, Jav Additional Skills Needed: Extensive hands-on experience in ELT & ETL processesProduction experience with Airflow, Kafka, Hive, Presto, and HadoopAdvanced SQL knowledge and experience with SQL DBs like Amazon Redshift, MySQL, and PostgreSQLStrong Object Oriented design skills with deep knowledge of architecture and design patternsExpert knowledge of best practice software development methodologies and coding standardsExperience in public cloud deployments (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.).Data visualization experience with tools like Superset, Tableau, Kibana, Mode AnalyticsExperience with data streaming, e.g., Spark Streaming, KafkaExperience with CI/CDExperience with NoSQL DBs like Cassandra, Redis, CouchDB, ElasticsearchDatabase optimization and management skillsPrevious experience with Python frameworks like FlaskIdeally experienced in managing application deployments with Docker and Kubernetes.
