Role Summary
The Level 2 Digital Signage Engineer provides advanced technical support, configuration, and maintenance of digital signage platforms across enterprise environments. The role focuses on incident resolution, system optimisation, content deployment support, and collaboration with Level 3 engineers, vendors, and project teams to ensure high availability and performance of digital signage solutions.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Provide Level 2 support for digital signage hardware, software, and network-related issuesTroubleshoot and resolve incidents escalated from Level 1 support within SLAConfigure, deploy, and maintain digital signage players, displays, and CMS platformsPerform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issuesSupport content scheduling, playback issues, and media optimisationMonitor system health, performance, and uptime using monitoring toolsApply firmware, OS, and application updates in line with change management processesMaintain accurate technical documentation, runbooks, and asset recordsLiaise with vendors and third-party support for issue resolution and escalationsSupport new installations, upgrades, pilots, and proof-of-concept deploymentsProvide guidance and mentoring to Level 1 support engineersEnsure compliance with security, network, and corporate IT standardsKnowledge Skills & Attributes
Strong analytical and structured troubleshooting skillsSolid understanding of AV, digital signage, and IT infrastructure conceptsAbility to work independently on complex technical issuesGood communication skills for engaging with clients, stakeholders, and vendorsCustomer-focused mindset with attention to service quality and uptimeAbility to manage multiple incidents and priorities simultaneouslyMethodical approach to documentation and change controlWillingness to work on-call or outside business hours when requiredAcademic Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in:
Information TechnologyComputer ScienceElectronics / AV EngineeringTelecommunicationsRelevant certifications (desirable):CompTIA A+, Network+, or ITF+AVIXA CTS or CTS-IVendor certifications (e.g., BrightSign, Samsung, LG, Scala, Appspace)ITIL FoundationRequired Experience
3+ years experience in digital signage, AV systems, or IT support rolesProven experience supporting enterprise or large-scale digital signage deploymentsExperience working in a managed services or service desk environmentExposure to incident, problem, and change management processesExperience supporting Windows, Linux, or embedded player platformsTechnical Expertise
