Role Summary
The Level 3 Surface Hub / Teams Meeting Room Engineer is the senior technical specialist responsible for the design, support, optimisation, and governance of Microsoft Surface Hub and Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) solutions. The role acts as the highest escalation point for complex issues, leads service improvements, and ensures reliable, secure, and high-quality collaboration experiences across enterprise meeting spaces.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Act as Level 3 escalation for Surface Hub and Microsoft Teams Rooms incidentsLead root cause analysis for recurring or high-impact meeting room issuesDesign, standardise, and govern MTR and Surface Hub room configurationsSupport and optimise audio, video, and collaboration performanceOversee firmware, OS, and application updates for room systemsLead onboarding, rollout, and lifecycle management of meeting room devicesTroubleshoot complex issues spanning AV, network, identity, and M365 servicesDefine and maintain operational standards, runbooks, and support modelsEngage with Microsoft and AV vendors on advanced escalationsSupport major meetings, events, and executive collaboration spacesProvide technical guidance and mentoring to Level 1 and Level 2 engineersCollaborate with security, network, endpoint, and M365 teamsEnsure compliance with security, change, and configuration standardsKnowledge Skills & Attributes
Expert understanding of Microsoft Teams Rooms and Surface Hub architectureStrong troubleshooting skills across AV, networking, and M365 layersCalm, structured approach during live incidents and critical meetingsStrong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholdersCustomer- and user-experience-focused mindsetAbility to manage and prioritise multiple high-impact issuesStrong documentation and standards-driven approachProactive in identifying and resolving systemic service issuesAcademic Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in:Information TechnologyAV / Media EngineeringComputer ScienceTelecommunicationsCertifications (desirable):
Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator AssociateAVIXA CTS or CTS-ISurface Hub or Microsoft Teams Rooms vendor trainingITIL FoundationRequired Experience
5+ years’ experience supporting enterprise collaboration, AV, or M365 services2+ years in a senior or Level 3 MTR / Surface Hub support roleProven experience supporting executive and high-availability meeting spacesExperience operating in managed services or enterprise support environmentsExperience with incident, problem, and change management processesTechnical Expertise
