Overview

Role description

The person will work in a team developing and improving an in-house software product. The responsibilities include verification of the functional specifications/test approaches as well as managing and developing test coverage through manual and automated tests.

Good candidates should be able to:

• Perform QA-related tasks around test planning, preparation, execution, analysis and reporting
• Participate in test approach definition and test strategy implementation
• Ensure the timely reporting and classification of defects
• Collect, share and support QA-related expertise regarding testing
• Maintain QA-related project documentation
• Escalate QA-related risks and issues to Product Owner
• Contribute to updating testing best practices
• Evaluation of specification testability and “definitions of done”
• Support and develop automated testing in agile development teams with BDD (behavior driven development) approach

Requirements

Experience/Background:

• Understanding of testing across the full Software Development lifecycle
• Proven experience in QA and Testing role as part of an Agile team
• Experience of test management tools (HP QC), defect tracking tools (Jira) testing tools (Postman/SOAP-UI) and test automation tools (Selenium)
• Knowledge in programming methods and languages
• Knowledge of BDD methodology, practical experience in BDD testing

Experience/Tools:

• Technology knowledge and expertise in
  • Java Platforms and Services
  • Oracle Databases and SQL queries
  • HTTP- and REST-interfaces
  • JSON
• Frameworks:
  • Cucumber / Gherkin

• Proven analytical skills, problem solver;
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Common sense and general IT literacy on a high level;
• Ability to work in team;
• Good written and spoken English, basic knowledge in German is helpful,
• Proactively initiate, develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members in multiple locations
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of people and achieve results
