The Department of Applied Chemistry and Inorganic Substances Engineering and Environmental Protection within the Politehnica University Timisoara is accepting application for one Research Scientist position.

The job is for a period of 29 months - in the framework of the Collaborative Research Project: Combinatorial Design of Novel Bipolar Plate Coatings for Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers – CoDe-PEM, funded through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism - Norway Grants, Project code: EEA-RO-NO-2018-0502, Main Thematic Area: Energy, Main Key Topic: Innovative materials and technologies for energy storage; Project Promoter: Politehnica University Timisoara, Project Coordinator: Prof. Corneliu Marius Craciunescu, contract no. 2/2019.

The position is part-time (42 hours per month), and the remuneration is 830 Euro/ month (before tax).

Minimum criteria:

• The candidate has a degree in Chemical Engineering, with 3 years experience in Electrochemistry.

• An application is submitted according to the instructions below.

The hiring process consists in:

Written test in English on the topics indicated in the Additional Information section, where a bibliography is also included. The evaluation process will also take into account the candidate's previous research experience in Electrochemistry. The candidate's scientific papers, whether as author or co-author, published in relevant fields can be an advantage. Eligibility criteria

 

- Bachelor and PhD in Chemical Engineering. Knowledge of English language – advanced level.

 

Selection process

 

Written test on the following topics:

- Electrochemical Thermodynamics and Kinetics

- Proton exchange membrane water electrolysers (PEMWE) and fuel cells (PEMFC)

- Corrosion of metals and alloys

- Corrosion testing of PEMWE bipolar plates
