On a daily basis you will:Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team of UX Designers; lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, web and mobile platforms, and devices.Plan and track UX projects and deliverables from inception to completion through iterative stages, optimizing for user experience quality and design productivity.Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with leaders inside and outside their core product team to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.Be responsible for and effectively advocate for users in a fast-paced environment, imparting day-to-day design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, product management, and engineering.Triage work requests to the UX team and manage team resources to maximize impact. Be hands-on when needed to balance team workload with priorities.Lead design reviews with the team to ensure high UX design quality deliverables from team members.Participate in hiring and talent management processes, and help to define UX processes and collaboration models with relevant UX teams.Coordinate team’s short and long term plans with other SpotOn UX leaders to plan and facilitate UX research and other shared UX team activities.Foster SpotOn’s culture and principles within the group, while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence.Work across time zones when required. What skill are we searching for?2+ years of managing local and remote UX teams — multidisciplinary UX team experience is a plus.6+ years of product user experience design with an accompanying UX-focused portfolio of work samples for web and mobile applications. Please be prepared to articulate the design challenge or problem that was solved and your design rationale behind your design choices, in addition to your design artifacts.Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Graphic Design, or a related design or behavioral science discipline, or equivalent experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – bonus for additional language skills.Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.Experience designing for software product experiences from inception to shipment.Experience with design thinking frameworks, as well as translating UX research insights into inventive design solutions that address user needs/pains.Experience with mobile-first product design and designing UX for consumer-facing and business-facing web and mobile applications.Sharp attention to detail.Excellent design coach experienced with directly mentoring designers, providing design guidance, UX training and elevation of design craft and qualityExperience balancing product, development, and user-centered goals to help shape overall product strategy.Effective in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work, and to collaborate freely with partners across Brand, Marketing, Product, Engineering and neighboring UX teams.
